Description

Hi guys! This is my new artwork, updating my character portrait of Pleroma (Encantaria). Now the Naia, Vitória Régia Dryad.

>Lore: The Tupi-Guarani shamans from Amazon, said that at the beginning of the world, every time the moon was hiding on the horizon, looking down behind the mountains, went to live with your favorite virgins. Also said that if the Moon was fond of a young girl, transformed into stars of heaven, Naiá, the daughter of the tribe chief, was impressed with the story.

Then at night, when everyone was sleeping and the moon rode through the sky, she wanted to be transformed into a star, climbed the hills and chasing the moon in the hope that it saw her, And so did every night for a long time. But the moon did not seem to notice it and you could hear her sobs of sadness in the distance. In one night, Naiá, in the clear waters of a lake, the figure of the moon. The poor girl, thinking that the moon had come to pick her up, threw herself into the deep waters of the lake and was never seen again.

The moon, wanted to reward the sacrifice of a young girl, and decided to turn it into a different star, the kind that glow in the sky. Then turned it into a "Star of the Waters", which is the plant Lilies. Thus was born a plant whose flowers and fragrant white only open at night.

It’s interesting to observe that they are distant cultures in time and space and have not had contact, also remembering  the legend of Lorelei  (Loreley, Loreli) is a legendary nymph / mermaid present in German folklore.  The vitória régia or water lily (Victoria amazonica) is an aquatic plant of the Nymphaeaceae family, typical of the Amazon region.

Beautiful, and it shows that dryads were not depicted as arrogant as elves or high fairies in myths while being just as good-looking.
